What we aim to publish
Our goal is to make antique and vintage research easier to understand. We prefer clear explanations over unnecessary jargon and distinguish between a likely identification, a research clue, and a confirmed fact.
How identification content is framed
Photo-based results are suggestions based on visual patterns and available reference information. When an answer is uncertain, the app and site should say so. A likely match is not presented as proof of maker, age, authenticity, or provenance.
Sources and review
Our editorial team checks practical identification guidance against reputable museum collections, specialist references, auction catalogues, and published maker or hallmark information where appropriate. We link readers to the next research step rather than presenting a photo-based result as final proof. Articles are reviewed when material guidance changes or we identify a clear correction.
